How to play Regional Blocked Games?
« on: March 07, 2014, 11:01:33 am »
Well, since there's a lot of such questions going on about ima give a short quick post about it.

1st, you will need a VPN to log in to those games and the VPN location varies depend on the game you wish to play.

eg. a game in China will require you to get a CN VPN, a game in Japan will require you to get JP VPN, and games in Korea will require KR VPN etc etc.

For those who wish to play:

NA,EU,Japan games - Try Hotspotshield (paid version)

http://www.hotspotshield.com/

CN,KR,US games - Try Newgameway provided VPNs (require payment)

http://www.newgameway.com/product.php?gid=32

2nd you will need to get an account of the game.

For other countries, it's quite easy and you can easily sign up an account yourself by the help of translator or any english guide.
But for those who wish to play Korea games. With the new KSSN law, it's been impossible to create an account by your own if you aren't a korean citizen.

To over come it, you will need to "Buy" an account to play. (Can still easily be banned after 6mths to 1 year play, but if you can't wait 2-3 years for the English version, it's worth it)

You can get those accounts from Newgameway as well.

3rd, For those who wish to top up credits in JP games but don't know how:

[1] Use play-asia or Suto to buy Webmoney top-up card.

http://www.play-asia.com/webmoney-5000-point-prepaid-card-paOS-13-49-en-70-6xmx.html

http://www.sutowebmoney.com/

[2] Register a webmoney account (You can find instructions on either of the websites above)

http://www.webmoney.jp/

[3] Use the top-up card in webmoney website (again instructions can be found so i won't be including them)

[4] Buy the subscriptions/cash items with webmoney points in game.

--

For some games, they require you to enter Webmoney Top Up code directly on their website. In that case, simply use the code there without needing to go thru the webmoney point step.

That's all i guess. I'll add more infos when i remember them.  ;)

Thanks for the guide. Would using a VPN affect latency?

Yes because the data sent and received from your pc must do a longer way to the game server.

If you bought a VPN that's using a 4mb internet but you are using a 20mb internet, what you will be getting between the VPN and the server is 4mb max, you can't get higher than what their internet speed provides. But if you are using a 4mb speed but connected to a 20mb VPN, the speed between the VPN and the game should be the same as local connection (which is faster), and since paid services don't usually share connections, you will actually be getting much faster downloads/uploads compared to direct connecting to the server without a VPN.

But putting the speed aside, for a game to run smooth, it all depends on the Ping between your Network provider and the VPN's network provider. The Ping/Speed between the game server and the VPN should be fast since it's counted as local. But the Ping you are getting between the VPN and your PC depends on your service provider. In many cases, it should actually fasten up things for you since paid VPN doesn't do much sharing and you should be getting full speed(not ping) of what the VPN provide unless your country has a bad connection between the VPN's country.  ;)

Lets say someones ping is low to a server in japan. Would it be smarter to get a vpn within the middle of japan and the US? or would it be smarter to get one from japan? And is their any good free VPNs our their for the SEA version?

Edit:
Ok i got Soft VPN from the link above. I cant figure out how to make the host destination? Like what would be a spot for it in SEA version?
